Leigh Kamore Haynes is an associate professor of practice at Simmons University in Boston, USA and director of the university’s master of public health programme. Leigh is also a researcher in the faculty of political science, department of conflict and development at Ghent University. Leigh’s teaching, research and practice focuses on health and human rights law and policy, including the role social movements and people’s organizations play in securing human rights and social justice for everyone. As a health advocate and activist, Leigh is active with the People’s Health Movement’s North America and Europe regions, the Framework Convention Global Health Alliance and the Law Section of the American Public Health Association. Leigh studied law at the University of New Mexico and public health at the University of Texas in the United States. She later studied international and European law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Leigh will be part of the remuneration committee in the Wemos supervisory board.
