Pearl Heinemans
Communication advisor
“Health is not supposed to be a privilege, reserved for the few, such as those who can afford it. Nor should it be a distant dream for the vulnerable and unfortunate in many countries worldwide. What I like about Wemos is that we look at the ‘bigger picture’ to tackle such injustices: politics, policies and health are undoubtedly intertwined. For me as a communications officer, it’s always a fun challenge to turn our valuable work into clear, compelling stories, whether in words or visuals.”
As communication advisor at Wemos, Pearl supports the organisation with various communications activities.
Previously, she gained experience as a (web)editor at The Broker Online for the dossier ‘Post-2015’ and at the organisation Both ENDS.
Pearl studied Health Sciences and Global Health at Maastricht University. During the master’s program Global Health, she followed elective courses at Thammasat University in Bangkok, and attended a symposium program in Manipal (India). In addition, she did a research internship in international tobacco control policy in Bangkok.
