Why global health deserves a place in the ‘action plan on policy coherence for development’

The recently published Dutch global health strategy contains fine ambitions to contribute effectively and sustainably to global health. It speaks of a ‘whole of government’ and ‘health in all policies’ approach to coherent global health policy. Nice, because we believe that government-wide cooperation is essential. So why does the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation’s ‘Policy Coherence for Development Action Plan’ not include a broad focus on global health?

Election candidates layout vision for future of Dutch leadership in human rights and global health

How can the Netherlands maintain and strengthen its role in human rights and global health? This was the focus of a pre-election event in The Hague, hosted by the DGHA and the SRHR Platform. Candidate Members of Parliament (MPs) from seven political parties discussed their vision and commitment to advancing (sexual) health and rights in the Netherlands and worldwide. The coordinators of this initiative – the Dutch Global Health Alliance (DGHA) and the SRHR Platform – seek to maintain and strengthen the Netherlands’ leadership role in global health and SRHR. Draft GFF Strategy 2026-2030: a chance to give input

Wemos welcomes the publication of the draft GFF 2026–2030 Strategy for the second public consultation. We see it demonstrates a renewed commitment to equity, country ownership, and sustainable health financing. But also identify critical areas where the GFF must go further to truly deliver on its promises. Read our analysis and recommendations. #SeeMe campaign: highlighting the impact of Make Way

We are happy to announce that we have launched the second part of our #SeeMe campaign under the Make Way programme. This second and final part of the campaign shines a light on the impact of the programme in the countries where it has been implemented (Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia), as well as on the regional and global level. It features six impact stories with interviews with youth, religious leaders and civil society on how Make Way has increased the understanding of the importance of an intersectional approach to ensure sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all, and the vital role that youth can play in this.
